EA has unveiled Hall of FUT, a new player item type coming to FC 27 that honors the cards Ultimate Team players actually remember, not just the biggest real-world names. The announcement landed on July 23 alongside the reveal trailer, and the inaugural class is pure FUT nostalgia: Adebayo Akinfenwa, Marouane Fellaini, Loic Remy, Eljero Elia and Giovani Dos Santos.
Every one of those five earned cult status on the virtual pitch rather than through trophy cabinets. Akinfenwa is the obvious headliner, the strongest man in the game whose Hero and SBC items maxed physicality at 99. Fellaini terrorized a generation of players who could not deal with his chest control and aerial presence. Remy's pace made his Gold Rare a staple of early-season Premier League squads, Elia was the budget wing rocket with 90-plus pace, and Dos Santos quietly offered four-star skills, a four-star weak foot and shooting that outperformed his price for years.
How you get one
At launch there is exactly one route: the FC 27 Ultimate Plus Edition includes a Hall of FUT Player Pick, one choice from the five inductees. That edition is only on sale through August 31 and also packs 10,000 FC Points across five monthly drops, an untradeable 85+ international ICON, Premium Passes for Seasons 1 through 5 and an extra Evo slot. EA has not said whether Hall of FUT items will reach packs, SBCs or objectives later in the cycle, so for now the pick is the only confirmed source.
What it means for FUT players
Hall of FUT reads like EA formalizing what the community has done for years with cult cards, and it fits the collection push we already saw with the FUT Gallery reveal on the FC 27 hub. If you are weighing the pick, think about how you actually play: Akinfenwa will dominate the meta conversation the way his Hero card did, but Elia's pace profile is the closest thing to the modern meta winger archetype, and Dos Santos is the most balanced attacker of the five. Expect stats and ratings closer to launch; EA has only confirmed the names so far. And if history repeats, the smart move is waiting to see all five items in full before locking a choice you cannot trade away.
